The week of August 15 is the Bon Holiday week in Japan, and many people have time off. Dad and Mom took summer vacation starting last Friday, so we went camping in Nagano, again!

We were worried that there would be a huge traffic jam, so we got up at 4:00 in the morning and left Tokyo at 5:00!

It was the right choice! If we had left one hour later, we would have been caught up in a 40-km (25-mile) tailback.

At the camp site, I made some friends. They were very good at swimming and retrieving, and Mom told me I should have learned from them.

No way! I'd rather go running with them than swimming or retrieving!

The weather on the mountain was variable.
During the day, it was beautiful weather, but in the evening, suddenly the thunder started rumbling and we had a downpour.

Lucy used to be terribly scared of the thunder, but her hearing has gone with age, so she could stay peacefully and enjoy a nap.

At night, we could see the beautiful full moon in the sky.

Eat, drink, run, swim, sleep, eat, drink, run, swim, sleep...
